because we are counting the cost, too [UPDATED]

27 Edward Snowden Quotes About U.S. Government Spying That Should Send A Chill Up Your Spine

"If Snowden is not already under the protection of some foreign government (such as China), it will just be a matter of time before U.S. government agents get him.

And how will they treat him once they find him?  Well, one reporter overheard a group of U.S. intelligence officials talking about how Edward Snowden should be "disappeared". "

WHY IT MATTERS

  • because a lot of insiders have been warning people just end up dead
  • because conservative Americans are being declared the enemy
  • because the same shift that is happening in the Episcopal church is happening in the country at large
  • because if we don't keep truth alive...soon there won't be any left
  • because this kid is one of us: think Patrick Henry, think Braveheart, think America
  • because without privacy, there is no freedom
  • because he counted the cost, then did

UPDATE [11 June 2013]
China is not necessarily the best place to 'seek protection.' In spite of gains made in trade or other areas, China potentially remains a competitor (if I may) in a way that, say, Iceland (Mr. Snowden's preference), is not and never will be. Merely the word to the wise, as I am sure the blogger above did not intend the slip noted herein.

UNDER THE HEAD OF HOPE THIS INFO IS MERELY FANTASTICAL BUT IT IS OUT THERE AND EVERYWHERE AND HAS BEEN FOR SOME TIME NOW AND MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO JUST TUCK IN YOUR BACK POCKET FOR PERSPECTIVE AND/OR POSSIBILITY
The Before Its News Repost (7 January 2013)

COMMENTARY
Certain urban legends (or whatever any might wish to call them) abide 'out there' now. One is the matter of the guillotines. Research tends to land back at one woman both having originated and keeping the idea afloat that the government is stockpiling guillotines that are to be used to eliminate Christians at some future point ever trembling on the near horizon.

It may well be that the 'insider' reports fall to a like floating.

However, rather than declare the folk who are, yes, putting out the same stories (is one insider stirring all up; is he/she not what he/she declares but rather, some form of domestic terrorist creating havoc where there is none: the lists to suppose what might be happening go in all directions)—rather than declare these precious individuals liars, I tend to put these items in the proverbial back pocket of possibility.

(And yes, in spite of all, the guillotine story goes to that same place: fantastical but...

Possible.)

Detail, after all, can be manufactured. Many have agendas, and both sides have rabid agenda sorts.

I have been seeing these insider stories for some long while reposted at Before Its News; the above link is merely one of them.

As I am sure none need reminding, based on what we know already, counting the cost, for all of us, is needful.

But after you get through counting, you pick up your tools. Set about building.

Finally, this is a most divisive issue, but it remains that the founding of this country (merely as the lesson in history) was divisive: Patrick Henry is a hero because he was on the side of right...

And right won.
