COMMENTARY
Heart goes out to family, friends and readers of Michael's work but it has to be said: I get very nervous when people who are on the front lines of important reporting (i.e., at the least, criticize the current administration; herein, additionally, tell tales from Afghanistan) have car accidents.

That sad reality has to be in the forefront of thought for all of us.

It has to be said, and said again.

And now that it has been said, again, heart goes out to those who knew, loved and respected this man. God grant him rest in light eternal.

COMMENTARY
Whether one wishes to snort or to merely roll the eyes, keeping abreast of the fictions of the modern world is never a bad idea.

Old school here: walk softly, but carry a big stick applies as succinctly to nuclear arms as it did to fighting against Hitler. Reducing arms world-wide will always require a more civilized wonder than the one in which we are dwelling, twenty-first century annis Domini.
